What happened?
The last couple of weeks it has been hard to keep up the writing. Besides this I am writing an essay about games and narrative systems. The narrative side of this game is also taking a lot of my writing energy. However, it’s important to maintain the rhythm as much as possible.
This week has been a fun one, actually. After a conversation with Greg a few weeks ago, I decided to add the possibility of stepping out of the static cameras view system and allow a first person control of the character. This is a bit of a challenge since I need to make sure that the player can still interact with the UI and the game mechanics while being in this mode. Today I finished and I think it feels very goo to be able to navigate this office. Besides, it opens up the possibility to distribute some of the game info that is mainly concentrated in the desk at the moment.
I also got to advance in some of the writing. I need to start about two things mainly. On the narrative side, how to start creating new characters for the daily events. How I can make them feel unique and relatable inside this very abstract world. On the programming side, I need to start focusing on the game events. The interactions between the guards and the customers, mostly. That flow will determine the core of the game interaction, possibly.
What’s Wrong?
What isn’t?
